What are the causes of heel pain and can it be cured easily? – Siddha medicine

Now a days very common complaint is heel pain..This pain occurs in the foot and ankle also. Heel pain can make it difficult to walk and daily work activities.mostly affected all age groups.

Causes of heel pain

  • many medical reasons cause heel pain..
  • Achilles tendinitis (pain at the back of the heel), bursitis, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, calcaneal spurs ( a pointed bony growth of the heel bone), plantar fasciitis (pain at the base of the heel), gout, dorsal tunnel syndrome, and  Tendinitis can also cause heel pain
  • A lot of pressure and strain on the foot can also cause heel pain.

Symptoms of heel pain

  • Bone growth on the heel(calcaneal spur)
  • Redness).
  • Stiffness 
  • Swelling 
  • Tenderness.
  • Pain after standing from a resting or sitting position.

Reasons of heel pain

  • Some people have high levels of uric acid in their blood.  This can also cause heel pain. 
  • It can be due to many reasons like rheumatoid arthritis, autoimmune disease, tuberculosis, clubfoot, flat foot, osteoporosis also heel pain
  • diabetes
  • High blood sugar
  • Obesity 
  • Work while standing for long periods of time.
  • People who wear plastic sandals and rough leather sandals are used more likely to develop heel pain
  • Many womens wear high heels.Pain is caused by the mass of tissue being overstretched.
  • Wearing cone-shaped shoes puts pressure on the bones of the foot and causes heel pain

prevents of heel pain

  • People who suffer from frequent heel pain should avoid standing for long periods of time.  Do not walk on rough paths.  Exercising like swimming, walking and jogging from an early age can prevent heel pain.
  • People with heel pain can perform muscle exercises for this purpose.  Cycling is a good exercise for heel pain because pedaling with pressure on the fore foot increases blood flow to the entire foot.  This will reduce the pain.
  • If you are obese, you should lose weight.  Only then the burden on the heel will be reduced and the pain will go away soon.
  • People with heel pain should not walk barefoot.  Not just on the street;  Even indoors.  Always wear comfortable sandals for walking.
  •  “MCR.”  (Micro Cellular Rubber) sandals are even better.  Don’t forget to wear coarse sandals.  Diseases like diabetes and gout should be controlled.
  •  It is important to wear shoes that fit the feet properly.  Don’t wear tight shoes either.  Do not wear loose shoes.

Advice of heel pain

  • Avoid junk food
  • Stay away from hot, spicy, fried, and fast food.
  • Get proper rest after work.
  • Use well-fitted, supportive shoes.
  • Avoid high-heeled footwear
  • Use foot soaks at night and keep your feet warm.
  • Regular exercise and yoga practice
  • heel pain get better over time with nonsurgical treatments
  • Take  healthy food
  •  Keeping the uric acid level in the blood normal
  •  Avoid eating too much meat
  •  Control of blood sugar level

How to relieve heel pain?

  • When you wake up in the morning, your feet in warm water for a minute.  Then keep it in plain water for a minute.  If you hold this alternately for 20 minutes, you will get more blood flow to the heel and reduce heel pain. 
  •  Fry the rice and salt well in a pan.  It should be wrapped in a cotton cloth.  If you exercise daily in the heel area with this, the pain will go away.

  • Heat therapy is applied to the heels, often using heated bricks  This reduces inflammation, enhances blood flow, and provides pain relief
  • Night splint before they go to sleep and try to wear all night. If get out of bed during the night,they cannot apply weight to the splint, remove it. Also advises wear the splint while sitting for lengthy periods of time.

Siddha Treatments of heel pain

Medicines should be taken to reduce inflammation.

  • Boil the brick to ripen it and put castor leaf and datura leaf on it and keep the heel
  • Apply Melugu Thylam in heel.
  • Arakku – Erukku Pattru for Kuthikal vatham(Plantar fasciitis )Kombarakku 10g (lac) +Erukku pazhuppu 10g (Calotropis ripe leaves pulp)+ Kukkil powder 10g; all above powders are sauteed together in castor oil 50 ml, then applied under the heel and tied around with a cloth. It may be left to act for 4 hours a day. May be repeated for 1 week .relieve heel pain.

Many people ignored heel pain and continue with daily activities that make the problem worse. But it’s essential to give your body time to recover.
