Pirandai is cheaper that has numerous medicinal uses and health benefits. “Veldt Grape” in English name and its scientific name Cissus quadrangularis. The Pirandai plant grows everywhere mostly found naturally in forests and can be very easily grown at home as well.

பிரண்டையை நெய்யால் வறுத்து பின்பரைத்து மாதே

வெருண்டிடா தேற்று விழுங்கில்-அரண்டுவரும்

மூலத்திணவடஙகும் மூலவிரத்தமாறும் ஞாலத்தினுள்ளே 

Take pirandai plant and mix it with ghee from paste 500mg and eat 8 days in morning and night completely cure with Pain, irritation and bleeding in stool.

Other Uses

  • Cut the stalks of well-ripened Pirandai cut into small pieces, soak them in butter milk with required amount of salt, dry them in the sunlight and eat them to cure loss of appetite and taste, cough and phlegm.
  • Even if you eat the young stem leaves and grind them with pepper powder, you will get rid of stomach cramps.
  • Ear like pus discharge or ear ache, can be cured by heating the stem in little flame extracting the juice and using it as ear drops.
  • Pirandai regulates the activity of carbohydrate metabolizing enzymes and reduces the blood glucose levels.
  • If you eat Pirandai regularly, it will help reduce weight, and it not only helps reduce weight and helps lower LDL cholesterol and triglycerides.
  • Pirandai helps with bone growth. Fractured bones resetteld and healed.

How to prepare Pirandai Salt

Pirandai is required to be dried and then burnt in a fire to allow it to become ashes. One kilo of ashes can be mixed in 3 litter water and filtered for half a day. The diluted water should be poured into a ceramic vessel and must be dried in sunlight for about 8 to 10 days. The entire water would be dried and the residual salt should be accumulated. This residue salt of 2 to 3 grams can be eaten with milk for two months in order to do away with obesity and excess flesh..

Pirandai salt can be mixed with 2 gms of butter and taken twice a day for three days to cure mouth ulcers, bad odors, and lip cracks.

The ash contains mostly carbonates and to a small extent phosphates of sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium. The presence of potassium tartrate is also reported. The plant is rich in vitamin C.

In cases of dislocation of joints and bone fractures, given internally with milk and its oil was massaged externally recovery of the strength of the bones up to 90 percent in 6 weeks.

Pirandai Thuvayal or Paste

The stem part of Pirandai should be taken for peeling the outer skin and fiber. Then we must cut this into several pieces for heating with either ghee add some dry chilly, tamarind, and salt for taste purposes, we can add a little bit of coconut, and mustard in fried form. Paste is ready and can be eaten with rice.

Leaf Paste

Leaf 100 gm Ginger 1 piece Garlic -3 piece pepper -5; dry chillies 3 piece curry leaf, tamarind, and salt at the required level to be taken grind ginger, garlic, pepper, chilies, and tamarind to powder.Heat pirandai leaf, curry leaf, and coriander in either gingelly oil or ghee. again grind them finally add salt.

Pirandai is itchy in nature. If its juice comes in contact with the body, it will cause itching and irritation.. You can apply sesame oil or coconut oil on your hands before use.
